Banff Wedding: An Intimate Celebration at Cave & Basin

“Banff National Park feels like the right place to celebrate our love through our connection to the Canadian Rockies and the national park.”

Amanda & Nyal are a couple that fully embrace what life in a national park is all about. Local to Jasper, these mountains signify not only their home and their backyard, but they also encompass a large part of their lives and their love story. Considering their intimate connection to the Canadian Rockies, choosing the Cave & Basin as their wedding venue certainly made for an intimate experience that was unique to them.

Our day started in the shadow of Cascade Mountain at Hidden Ridge Resort, just down the road from the Banff Townsite. Both Amanda and Nyal had separate rooms to get ready for their wedding day with some of their family members and the wedding party.

An Emotional & Intimate Ceremony

The ceremony at the Cave & Basin Historical Site is one of the more emotional and authentic ceremonies I’ve been to. The officiant was a close friend of theirs, and without a first look scheduled, this was Nyal’s first chance to see his bride-to-be in what proved to be an emotional moment. While the images most commonly shared on social media are highly curated, the raw emotion of wedding days to me are what make for the most memorable and unique moments.
