“Banff National Park is on my bucket list, why don’t we go check it out and if we like it, we can get married there?”
Taylor & Jack came to the Bow Valley together after their engagement on a bit of a whim. They had seen photos of this beautiful location on social media and thought to themselves – maybe Banff would be a good place to tie the knot. While their love story is definitely unique, Banff elopements around the national park have been growing in popularity as couples increasingly choose for smaller, more intimate wedding celebrations.
Travelling from the midwestern US, Taylor and Jack had a vision for their wedding day that was a bit different. They wanted an adventurous yet intimate experience with their family, where they could focus on each other and those closest to them. Simple and pure.
Together, we started the elopement planning process, discussing potential locations and what a timeline could look like. They wanted something easily accessible by car, not far from their accommodation for the night at The Malcolm Hotel in Canmore, but still offering breathtaking views. After some back and forth and a trip to Banff National Park to confirm, they settled on the beautiful lakeside location of Two Jack Lake, not far from the Banff Townsite.
Taylor & Jack wanted to incorporate something a little bit different into their elopement timeline. I love when my couples want to try something new, so when they asked if we could schedule some time to create fun and romantic photos around The Malcolm Hotel after the wedding ceremony, naturally I was all-in.
What an absolute joy it was to document this today. A day that was true to their story in every way, and a day that was spent surrounded by those that love them most.
